What qualifications do I need to attend a CTI 102 Field Trip? |
You must be a full-time travel agent who has completed the CTI 101 Course in 2008-2012 and a holder of a valid CLIA or TRUE (on a case-by-case basis) or IATAN card. (Some trips may have other requirements; please see calendar.) You should also be mentally and physically prepared to participate in a working fam. Please note that all itineraries are developed to make the most of the short duration of each trip. Agents should be in good physical condition to keep up with the scheduled events. If you have a physical condition that may keep you from doing so, please contact our office to inquire as to the rigor of the trip in which you plan to participate. Please also keep in mind the climatic conditions (i.e. humidity, season, temperatures).
How do I enroll? |
First, select a trip and date from our Calendar (link below). SECOND, book your air to Cancún, use a pass or airline discount. These responsibilities are yours, and required before submitting your enrollment. Note: Most carriers require a valid IATAN card which must be presented upon check-in. Third, complete your Enrollment (link below) which requires registration fee payment (MC/Visa/AMEX) and your airline reservation details. Finally, email a copy of your valid CLIA ( on a case-by-case basis) or IATAN card to Cancun Tourism Institute's trip administrator. Holders of TRUE certification will need to submit COPIES of their valid TRUE Certificate AND their valid OSSN Member Photo Card of the agent who is operating with that TRUE code. (Trip operation is subject to reaching a required miminum of agents per trip.) |
||
What will the trip itinerary be? |
Each trip is customized to maximize your valuable time. Typically, your trip will include numerous property inspections, orientation sightseeing tours, and dining at varied locations. Free time will be somewhat limited due to the short duration of each trip.
How large will my group be? |
Group size will be no more that 10 agents per trip. (Trip operation is subject to reaching a required minimum of agents per trip.)
When does the itinerary begin? |
"Day 1" of your trip is mostly a travel day, and the first group event will normally be scheduled for that evening. The last day of the trip will usually include a breakfast, but is mostly used for leisure and/or travel time depending on individual flight schedules.
May I take my spouse or others along? |
These trips are limited to qualified, full-time travel agents who are graduates of the Cancun CTI 101 Program.
Who handles my air travel reservations? |
This is done BY YOU, via any carrier of your choosing. Each carrier has its own policies, restrictions, black-outs, and rules. We suggest you FIRST investigate which carrier works best from your departure city. Then contact the carrier regarding availability and book your air space.
What other costs am I responsible for? |
First, you will be responsible for your own air travel arrangements. Second, you will be responsible for any transfers, ground transportation, and meals not covered on your itinerary (including any necessary overnight accommodations and meals prior to and/or after your inspection trip due to connection schedules from/to your city of origin). Third, any incidental charges (mini-bar consumption, telephone calls, purchases, etc.) will be your responsibility.
How are tips handled? |
You'll be asked to contribute $45 US toward payment of all meal tips and guide/driver trip tips. This will be collected at your first organized event by our escort or destination host.
Is the $99 fee refundable? |
Unfortunately, no. In the event that you must cancel your participation, we will do everything possible to reassign you to a later inspection trip providing space is available. An additional fee of $50 applies if you are rescheduled.
May I extend my trip or arrive early? |
Your selected airline will determine if pre and post trips are allowed. These arrangements must be coordinated by you personally.
When will I receive my trip documents and final itinerary? |
Itinerary details will be sent via email approximately one week prior to your date of travel. Fam documents will be received at the first group meeting.
Who is administering the program? |
Like the CTI 101 Program, the CTI 102 Program is administered and coordinated by Travalliance. Based in Westampton, New Jersey, we are working in cooperation with the Cancun Convention & Visitors Bureau.
